Case Study

Range optimization

The challenge

As new generations of blood gas instrumentation have come to market, the reportable ranges of the analytes has expanded. According to the regulations, in order for the users to report patient samples at these extended ranges, the user must verify the range using controls. RNA Medical's existing formulations could not address these extended ranges.

The idea

Tara realized there was an opportunity to develop a new formulation that would satisfy these targets while ensuring continued support for instrumentation compatible with the existing ranges.

The solution

Tara completed a detailed analysis of the various instruments available in the market to determine which parameters were adequately served by our existing formulation and which were not. This data was then used to determine optimal target ranges for a new level of control that addressed this need. Tara subsequently launched a project to commercialize this formulation and has proactively engaged with our OEM customers who could benefit from this new formulation.
